Hey, Dahlgren Residents! Can You Handle the Icy Chill of the 8th Annual EOD Polar Plunge?

February 1, 2015

Time to start thinking warm thoughts, Dahlgren residents! The annual EOD Warrior Foundation Polar Bear Plunge returns Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Fredericksburg Public Boat Dock. Now in its eighth year, the plunge challenges area residents to brave the icy chill of the Rappahannock River in the company of 200 fellow "plungers."

Those goosebumps will be for a good cause: The plunge benefits the EOD Warrior Foundation, a non-profit organization serving injured or ill active-duty military and EOD veterans and their families. Moreover, this year's event will include a warming tent, hot drinks, a live DJ, and a costume contest, the latter awarding prizes in the categories "best group," "funniest," and "most patriotic," to name a few.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., followed by the costume walk at 10:45 a.m. and the plunge at 11 a.m. To register for the plunge in advance, follow this link!
